What are the types of engineering plastic polyamide?

Types of Engineering Plastic Polyamide

1. Standard Aliphatic Polyamides
PA6 – Tough, impact-resistant, widely used in textiles, automotive parts, and consumer goods.
PA66 – Higher heat resistance and stiffness than PA6, common in gears, bearings, and industrial components.

2. High-Temperature Polyamides
PA46 – Superior heat resistance, used in under-the-hood automotive and electrical applications.
PA6T & PA9T – Semi-aromatic, low moisture absorption, ideal for electronics and precision parts.

3. Flexible & Transparent Grades
PA11 & PA12 – Lower moisture absorption, excellent chemical resistance, used in fuel lines and medical tubing.
Transparent Nylon (e.g., PA6/12 blends) – Optical clarity for lenses, protective covers, and packaging.

4. Reinforced & Modified Grades
Glass-Fiber Reinforced (PA+GF) – Enhanced strength and rigidity for structural parts like gears and housings.
Carbon-Fiber Reinforced (PA+CF) – Lightweight, high stiffness, used in aerospace and high-performance sports equipment.
MoS₂/PTFE-Filled – Improved self-lubrication for bearings and sliding parts.

5. Specialty & High-Performance Grades
Conductive Nylon – Anti-static or EMI-shielding for electronics and industrial sensors.
Flame-Retardant (FR) Nylon – Meets UL94 V-0 standards for electrical and automotive safety components.
Bio-Based Nylon (e.g., PA410, PA56) – Sustainable alternatives from renewable sources.

6. Copolymers & Alloys
PA/PP Blends – Better moisture resistance for outdoor and marine applications.
PA/Elastomer Alloys – Increased toughness for impact-resistant parts like power tool casings.
